Hunter Wine Helicopters and its parent company Aerologistics Pty Ltd is a family owned and operated company, located at Cessnock Airport and operating flights in the Pokolbin area of the Hunter Valley vineyards. We ensure visitors to the wine growing district will have an unforgettable experience from the luxury of our helicopter and the services we can provide.

Hunter Wine Helicopters pride ourselves on presentation and the quality products we offer in our helicopters. They are maintained above the standards set out and presented impeccably to the client offering climate control heating and cooling vents, David Clarke Headsets, voice activated intercom, mobile phone access and Global Positioning Systems.

Chief Pilot - Stephen Forgacs
Stephen commenced his flying career in 1995 and has gained experience in most aspects of helicopter flying. He has worked in the Northern Territory flying tourists on scenic tours and charters, conducted three seasons of frost protection in Tumut, piloted for NBN News Newcastle, and carried out powerline, Fauna and Flora surveys and emergency flood relief work. He has a wide range of experience in aerial photography and film work, conducting shoots for advertising firms and television commercials. He has also contracted to the National Parks and Wildlife Service and Rural Fire Services conducting firefighting operations. Stephen is also responsible for the development and construction of the Newcastle Regional Heliport.

Jason "Percy" Oliver - Cessnock Base Manager
Jason begun his flying career in 2004, and joined the team at Hunter Wine Helicopters late in 2006. As a company line pilot Jason is experienced in scenic tours, transfers, charters and Heli-luncheons.

Peter McDonald
Peter started his flying career in 1999 and has gained experience in scenic tour flying in Newcastle and is now based at Cessnock working for Hunter Wine Helicopters carrying out tours, aerial photography, transfers and surveys.

Hunter Wine Helicopters is a fully accredited operator and complies with the rigorous standards set down by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority in regards to operational standards and insurance requirements.

Terms and Conditions

  • Passenger Numbers: Minimum passenger numbers apply to some flights. Hunter Wine Helicopters reserves the right to vary flights due to weather or other operational considerations.

  • Weight Restrictions: Weight is a critical element of the operation of helicopters. Hunter Wine Helicopters must weigh all items of luggage and passengers prior to commencement of flight. Hunter Wine Helicopters reserves the right to organise flights so that they do not exceed the maximum take off weight of the helicopter.

  • Cancellation Policy: Up to 48 hours before the flight, all monies paid will be returned less any credit card charges that Hunter Wine Helicopters has incurred. If flights are cancelled within 48 hrs of the departure time, 10% of the booking will be charged. With 10 and 15 minute scenic flights all monies will be forfeited.

  • If Hunter Wine Helicopters cancels due to weather or some other operational contingency, a full refund will be made if flights cannot be rescheduled.

  • There are no refunds for gift certificates purchased where the scenic tour is either a 10 or 15 minute flight, all other gift certificates purchased will incur a 10% fee on the total amount.
